Our 8th Hands-on Course in Relative Analgesia passed off highly successfully last Saturday ( 6th May 2006). As usual numbers were small which allows plenty of one to one time and a tutorial feel to the day. This was the first time that we could not muster two or three patients to demonstrate via a live video camcorder link to the delegates.
However the delegates did watch a number of pre-recorded cases being treated and this enabled me to discuss the details with them as we watched each case together. Everyone found this very helpful and a perfectly acceptable alternative to live cases.
We also arranged for one of our recent patients to come in and discuss his appreciation of the benefits of Relative Analgesia with the group. He did this with much credit and almost stole the show! He brought a written resume/testimonial which he read out and allowed the delegates to ask any questions they wished. He has given his permission to publish it with a view to encouraging more dentists to take up Relative Analgesia as a service and also to encourage anxious patients.
