Inhalation Sedation. More about our courses.

Why Attend?

This video testimonial is typical of those we receive having turned patient's anxiety around.

NEXT COURSES

Over 400 dental professionals have attended our one-day, hands-on, focussed courses in Inhalation Sedation /Relative Analgesia (RA).

Lunch at Prezzos, Newbury
That probably makes us the most experienced GDP and RDN team, specifically teaching RA in the UK and Ireland today.  The courses are interactive and limited to small numbers so everyone can be involved . They are run by myself and my wife Chris. Between us we have an enormous depth of experience in helping anxious dental patients and in conscious sedation.

Many of our course delegates have gone on to take up the technique for the benefit of their patients, their practices and themselves. Some have gone on to book us to provide one-to-one mentoring in their own practices to certify their competency.

Delegates have included GDPs, Specialists, Therapists, Hygienists and Dental Nurses.

Delegates have travelled from many parts of Ireland, Scotland and England (yes and one from Wales) including the channel Isles. We have have delegates fly in from the Baltics (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia).

In the initial years ( from 2003)  the courses were held at my practice in Newbury.
In the last few years practitioners from Northumberland, Saddleworth and Stratford-on-Avon have hosted the courses in their own practices.

Naturally we look at the subject in the light of other options in the management of patients with dental anxiety and phobia but our focus is on RA with which I have 38 years experience of using as a  GDP, on a daily basis.  This technique is non-invasive, safe and effective and in my hands accounts for success for 95% of the anxious patients we see, as a cross-section of the population attending a High St. practice.

and a short MCQ to finish off !

More recently both Henry Schein and A-Dec have offered their showrooms around the UK and Ireland allowing us to bring the courses closer to delegates home towns.

Competency Certification

The current recommendation is that dental professsionals with little or no previous experience in conscious sedation should have their first 10 cases undertaken under supervision, before being signed off as competent by an experienced mentor, to go it alone.

If this is not readily available, we can tailor a structured program to assist you to accomplish this at your own practices.
