By Dr. Richard Charon BDS

Newbury, Berkshire

Here is an update on my activities in running my Hands-on courses teaching interested General Dental Practitioners how to use RA and on "getting published."

Another highly successful Hands-on R.A. course

Yesterday, Saturday 2nd October, we enjoyed the company of Dr. Elaine Halley and her team from The Cherrybank Dental Spa practice who had flown down from Scotland to participate in my One-day hands-on RA course in Newbury, Berkshire.

Dr. Halley has a most impressive CV and is a leading light in Cosmetic Dentistry in Scotland and runs a highly innovative style of Dental Practice in Perth.

One other practice team had to pull out a few weeks ago, but Dr.Elaine Halley and her team told us how much they had benefited from the 1:1 coaching. So small can be beautiful !

Registration and introductions were due at 8.45 am but they were so keen that they arrived at 8.30am.

Still, my wife Chris Charon and I had arrived at 8.00 am having set up the Audio-visuals the previous evening.

Chris is a qualified Dental Sedation Assistant and manages my dental practice. During the day she was able to give valuable insights to the Cherrybank team of our experiences with treating patients under RA, at our Newbury Dental Practice over the last 15 years.

Here are some of the feedback comments from the Cherrybank Dental Spa team

"Excellent Course. Very relevant to what we needed to know, would recommend this to anyone looking for this type of training. Even the science part was interesting !! Thank you

All the info you e-mailed was very detailed and greatly appreciated - you have obviously worked very hard to put all this together - well done"

"Thoroughly enjoyed the day - very informative and nice relaxed atmosphere"

"Excellent and very well thought out and put together. Cominination of hands-on and live patient demonstrations are an excellent teaching environment. Thank you !"

"Thank you very much the day was great. Great layout of food and great choice of restaurant for lunch. It has been really good and informative. Thanks"

It seems they all found the return journey and overnight stay worthwhile. I look forward to hearing of their progress with introducing RA into their innovative dental practice. Here we all are at the end of the day . Still smiling!
