Further delay in promised publication
At the end of 2003, I was commissioned by Ellis Paul, the Editor-in-Chief of Private Dentistry (PD) magazine to write 2 articles on the use of Relative analgesia (RA) in Private Dental Practice and it's role as a practice builder. The articles were finally published in May and June 2004 by FMC in PD, a subscription only publication. Following further discussions with FMC, they agreed to re-publish both articles, bound as an educational supplement, in "Dentistry" magazine, a broadsheet bi-weekly, which is distributed to all dentists throughout the UK & NI. This was due to appear in the second of the September 2004 issues but it failed to do so. I am currently waiting a reply from Julian English, Executive Editor to confirm October publication.
Another article on R.A.due soon
A review of the Porter-Brown Scavenging Nasal hood system.
RA Medical Services Ltd, based in W. Yorkshire, are suppliers of the equipment used for RA. They have recently commissioned two dentists to undertake a review of the "Porter-Brown" scavenging nasal-hood system, having recently visited the manufacturer's in the United States. The two dentists chosen to review the system were one in the North of England , undertaking NHS Dentistry and one in the South of England in private practice. The latter being yours truly! A description of this system and the articles stemming from the two reviews are due for publication in "Dentistry" magazine in the two October issues. Perhaps my Educational supplement will appear alongside these.
